Background
I am a Finance Data Engineer and MSc Mathematics candidate with 5 years of experience in the financial sector. Currently, I balance my work at Legal & General (Asset Management) with my postgraduate studies, where I am writing my dissertation on the Direct Method of the Calculus of Variations.
Alongside this, I am actively building new portfolio projects to accelerate my technical growth. As a first-generation university student, I am deeply passionate about making mathematics accessible and practical. I bring a powerful combination of mathematics and software engineering, and I am looking to join a forward-thinking team where I can continue to grow and do more maths.

Interests & Goals
🎯 Personal Interests
Outside of work and study, I enjoy cycling, playing guitar, and Magic: The Gathering. Like many in tech, I also enjoy gaming (and may have spent a bit too much time on Cookie Clicker while revising for my MSc exams!).
🚀 Long-Term Vision
My goal is to find a mathematically stimulating role where I can make a tangible difference. While I'd love to pursue a PhD eventually, my current focus is on an industry role where I can apply my skills directly. I firmly believe you don't need a formal institution to discover and enjoy mathematics.
🤝 Professional Motivation
I love building tools that genuinely help people—like automating tedious workflows so colleagues can get home to their families. I want to be challenged by hard problems so I can proudly point to a finished system and say, "I built that."
🌍 Outreach & Advocacy
Coming from a single-parent, low-income household as a first-generation university student, I understand the transformative power of education on social mobility. I hope to get involved in STEM outreach soon, as I strongly believe UK math education needs reform to be more accessible and engaging.
